Metha and Melisa painting series #4 - The memory of catching butterfly

When we were in 3rd grade of elementary school, during the holy month of Muslim Ramadan, school’s activities were reduced to respect the fasting month.
During that period, one of the more relaxing assignments I always remember was going to Bumi Siliwangi (now called Bumi Isola), and catching the monarch butterflies. We would bring them to school and observe their life cycle behaviors.

This painting shows Metha and I were catching butterflies and admiring red wild flowers in our cute hats.
It was a memory that last forever.
I hope you like this painting.

Metha and Melisa painting series #3 - Guava (Jambu) tree climbing

A story of friendship and connection:My friends, Velly, Dessy and Refita were inseparable in elementary school. They did many things together, whether having slumber parties, doing homework or chilling out by walking to spend the day.My painting depicts their walking up the hill, then sitting together at the top having snacks. In their adults life now, they all live far apart, but I am sure they are still very close at heart. Their long lasting friendship is truly beautiful and remarkable...I often call them “Tiga Sekawan!”My brother, Buddy Rahardjo, took the photograph during his hike at Pec-Tromeja Mountain, located at the triple border between Austria, Italy and Slovenia within the Julian Alps region. I used his photo for the background of this painting. I hope you enjoy my painting.
